The things you do for your pets...

A passing dog chased one of our chickens across the road into a clump of brambles on the edge of a neighbouring field and my attempts to lure her out only succeeded in driving her further in. So I left her a while before fetching our other chicken in the hope that seeing me feeding her friend would get her out. I managed to get them back almost within range before the second chicken (Splitter that she is) decided that, actually, she quite liked brambles too.

FFS!

So I got my gardening gloves, wellies and surprisingly thornproof coat on and trampled and hacked my way to them, crawled into the cosy den they'd chosen and dragged them out by their feet.

They're currently pottering about their run like nothing's happened and I've got to clear up various scratches before doing the multitude of jobs I did have planned for the last two sodding hours.
