Pigeon stuck in our showroom
Discussion
Any ideas?! It's a huge building and it's high up in the RSJs at the top. We've tried throwing things up near it to scare it, but it just won't move. It flew off a couple of times to a different RSJ, but now it's just sat there and refuses to move, despite throwing things up to hit the metal roof right next to it.
I don't want to hurt it and it's too high for us to get up there, even with a forklift.
Any ideas?!
We have two big roller shutter doors, both of which are fully open. The showroom isn't that bright and it's very sunny outside, so I'd have thought it could easily find it's way out.
It's crapping all over our new boats!!!

Air rifle after hours
In my experiance this is generally the only way to remove them.Got the industrial gas heaters on flat out with the recirculating fans turned off to try and make it uncomfortably hot. It's boiling hot upstairs on the mezzanine now! It just went to sleep....

are pigeons scared of tigers?
OP - I think you need a tiger.
Are customers scared of tigers though? If you were buying a boat, would you be scared of a tiger? How effective are tigers at reaching birds at this height? It's at the highest point of the building as shown above if that helps. OP - I think you need a tiger.

Soak some bread in sherry (plenty of sherry) at home time. The little buggers will get pissed and pass out. Chuck them out in the morning before the sober up.
(Birds are used to getting pissed when they eat rotting/fermenting fruit they won't mind)
I used to use this method when I worked in a supermarket instead of calling the pest controller with the air gun.

Been throwing rubber oar collars at it to try and drive it out. It's a persistant bugger! It's taken a few direct hits and still flying around. It's found a little hiding place now. Managed to hit it with an air rifle, some feathers popped out, but it's still hiding in the corner of the RSJ.
I feel sorry for it. I like the bread idea, but I have no sherry at work! Also, it's a huge building, I'm not sure it would find it.
