Snake!

OK. So it's not really a snake...


...more of a Slow Worm really.

I had to take decisive action to save this little fella/lass from being run over by Mountain Bikers on the Red Trail in Swinley Forest this afternoon. I only just realised what it was and avoided it, and not wanting to leave it to face certain death under the wheels of some unsuspecting rider I gently encouraged it off the Trail and into the cover of some Ferns on the forest floor. Feisty little beggar it was too, when it finally woke up from it's sunbathing daydream.

I think slow worms are beautiful creatures, well done on saving it.

Slow worms are cool, I'll have to rescue at least one when cutting my father's lawn today, the place is built on them.
