So whats the difference between a set of dog clippers and the ones used for cutting human hair?

We've got a set of Andis rechargeable dog clippers that we use for trimming the horses. I used to use them for taking the trousers off my Springer X and they work much better than human clippers.

Human clippers don't work on animals, I tried to trim a cat a while back with my Wahl ones and they were useless.
This is what I thought might happen ..... But why?
Both clippers look the same - they both cut hair - and as far as I'm aware pets don't have kryptonite in their hair.
So what makes pet clippers different from human clippers?

I think it's down to the grease in pet hair. Most of us wash our hair every day or two which gets rid of the grease.

As recommended on here, I got some pet ones from Lidl for 9.99. They did a great job on my long haired terrier!

I use my Mrs old clippers on our dogs and they work fine. One of my dogs has very fine hair the other very thick works just as well on both of them.

TBF i dont do as good of a job as a pro ( ive only done them 5 or 6 times so far ) At a £80 saving each time i do them my slightly lacking grooming skills will do just fine.

The only advice i have is to wash the dog first, the dirt etc in the hair will soon make the blades blunt if you dont.
