Dog poo question....

Sorry for being graphic...
Simba recently got over some kennel cough, and a bout of Colitis, both treated with Anti-biotics.
We've also switched him from Burns/JWB dried to cooked veg, rice and chicken.
The last few poops he's had little yellow speckles in it. I don't mean like rice size, i mean like pollen sized yellow spots, almost like canary grains. Also i've been informed from the other half that his last movement was softer than usual and had a small bit of mucus.
He seems lively and active, still going once/twice a day. He's wormed and flea proof.
Any ideas? Back to the vet again?

I hope you are not feeding cooked chicken unless you mean just the meat no bones.
Personally I would try raw food if you can - our dogs are much better on it (along with pretty much everyone we know who raw feeds) - there is less waste, it doesn't smell so much, and it breaks down fast too. You just have to read up on it and make sure you feed a good variety (including enough bone).

Yeah- i buy a bag of frozen thighs, strip the good meat off it and boil them for dinner, and he has a couple of frozen bones in the morning for breakfast.
No mixing raw and cooked.
Edit: He used to be on Naturediet (still is, about 3-4 meals out of 14) and dried, and his poop has been fine until his tummy bug. Always firm, and barely no smell.

His gut flora is probably a bit unbalanced at the mo.
You could try a pre/pro biotic product to settle things.
There is a product called Fortiflora its a powder you add to the food, 1 sachet a day for a month. (Even if all seems fine after a week do the whole month)
Keep his diet simple, adding too much variation at the mo may contribute to his iffy tummy.

He's got a bit of the runs this morning, so fasting today, and see how he goes.
he came into my office yesterday and got spoiled rotten with lots of doggy treats to keep him quiet, so i think that might contributed.
Apparently the yellow things are slowly getting less and less- i think it was a dog biscuit he had which was very crumbly.
