At midnight we lost our dear old cat misha, she was 19yrs.
The last 4 days she aged considerably and passed away on our bed last night with us gently stroking her head, run free misha with your brothers c-fa and fuggles.
I'll never forget your tiny squeaky mew. Love you lots. Mum xxxxxx

Aww, I am sorry to hear that. I know how you feel.

She looked smashing, bless her! I guess 19 years in a good innings for a furry though.

I'm a cat person too, and it's always been horrid losing a little friend. They have all had their own dear little personalities, and I miss them all. But eventually when things seem a little better, its always been a lovely new start giving a new little rescue cat from the CPL their new home.

They've all been such great companions and sources of amusement, and although each new one doesn't ever replace the old one so to speak - it's been a joy to meet and live with a new personality and watch them grow up.

Death's a part of life isn't it. I think that when a pet eventually dies, as long as I have provided the most comfortable, safe, loving home that I could possibly do, and they've spent most of their days either sleeping or eating contentedly, enjoying lots of love and cuddles, having fun outside and generally free to do 'cat stuff' then I guess that's time and money well invested in the care of a special animal.

Pleasure - and wow, you really have had some long livers!

I think our record is 19 for a little black and white called Sian. She came to us very unexpectedly - horrible story with a happy ending though.

My grandparents used to live in Wales, and one evening my Grandad was driving along a road called the Sychnant Pass. He drove past an abandoned cardboard box by the side of the road. I guess cars were slower in those days, because as he drove past he said it was just pure luck that he looked at the box which seemed a bit out of place because it looked brand new, and not like an old abandoned box. Then just as he did drive past, he saw the box move.

He stopped, went to the box, and inside found a tiny, scared little black and white kitten that someone had abandoned there frown

She was our little star for 19 years afterwards, bless her.

As long as you know you gave her a happy life, then all is well.

I am still however sorry for your loss.

Three in a year is a bad run, we had two go within a few months, and it pains me even now.

Sad to see them go, our old cat was 19 when she died, she was rescued at 4 days old when some dockers were drowning a litter of warehouse cats. My dad picked her up, brought her home and my mum fed her with an eye dropper every 2 hours. She thrived and was a feisty madam - probably her dock heritage. laugh Contrast that with my next door neighbour, she's had 2 young cats poisoned in the last 4 weeks, the latest one yesterday afternoon!! The police are doing door to door enquiries this afternoon. I saw the cheek chappie yesterday morning and he was fine and full of beans being chased round the garden by my rabbit.
