I was in a take away the other night and they had two large fish in a small corner tank, the tank looked green with slime. I know nothing about keeping fish in tanks but surely this is wrong?

Looks like they can't decide between 23, 24, 25, or 26.

Yep - doesn't look like a suitable habitat.

Is it worth reporting?

Maybe they're just checking their number hasn't come up yet.

Definately needs reporting to the RSPCA - totally unsuitable for these large fish that should be in a deep pond.

I'd say it can't hurt to try.

I have sent a message through the RSPCA website requesting that one of their field workers have a look.

The RSPCA responded very quickly to my report, and asked for the picture I have. I just received an answerphone message from the local officer who has been to visit and advised that the tank be cleaned immediately and that the fish be moved as soon as possible to a more suitable environment. She then said that the owner was about to build a pond but this may take several months and could I report back if the fish are still in this tank in a few months time.

So the response was impressively quick, the outcome a little vague.

Well done but I doubt the owner of the chinky is really going to build a pond but that's exactly where those koi should be...

I agree, the chances of him building a pond to put them in are pretty much zero.

Those fish are likely to now be dead!

That looks like a Jewel tank, 190 litres with a built in filter nad heater. I'd be very concered about the water level as the top of the water looks to be below the wier of the filter and that will seriously reduce water flow through the filter media. I'd also be woried about the thermometer as I hope this does not mean the heater is running, those are cold water outside fish, not aquarium fish.

Only one left; I really doubt the other has gone to the 'pond' that is supposedly being built.

The other one likely went into a 27 with rice.

Never mind the fish, what about the headless customer?
