So it is with great sadness that Humphrey has finally left us.

Back in Feb 2012 Humphrey was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy, it is a diesese that affects the spine and spinal cord, he had lost the use of his back legs and developed a minor bladder problem however he was in no pain and he had a good quality of life as he had a set of wheels for walks and a doggy nappy for when he was indoors incase there were any accidents.

Last night he went quite down hill; he was off his food, his legs were shaking, he was breathing quite heavily and in short bursts as if he was stressed and he had emptied his bladder spectacularly on his bed, we calmed him down and went to bed.

This morning I came down to find that he hadn't been on his bed at all and he was asleep sitting up in the corner of the hall, when I came down he didn't even acknowledge me.

I put him out for his breakfast but he just sat there looking into space with no attempt at all to eat his food; I picked him up to check on him and noticed blood on the floor, upon closer inspection I could see that it was coming from his penis area, Tina had a look and I think we knew that this was his time.

At the vets he passed a lot more blood and the vet didn't even want to investigate; they were fantastic and he passed peacefully.

Bye bye H.

Somebody attempted to steal my Nephews Pug and in the process it got run over. Poor little bugger was less than a year old. At least yours had a great life by the sound of it.

Sorry fella.

But it sounds like you made the right call at the right time. He couldn't have asked any more of you.

Bless him. We lost our Pug recently, and still not over him! God, they really are a big part of you.

Sounds like you gave him everything he could have ever wanted, so he would have appreciated that.

RIP fella.
