Hi,

New cat thread, I'm afraid.

Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to which breed 'Big Ears' here came from?

He's a rescue. 14 weeks old when I got him (first two pictures) As he grown he's become increasing lengthy, lean and muscular (more so than you'd expect from a regular ginger tabby mog - which he obviously is, but I'm sure there's more to him). His scruffy kitten / rescue centre fur is now like silk - in a way the camera cant capture - and looks quite stunning in the bright light. His stripes are becoming increasingly pronounced too. He's constantly alert, never shuts up, and plays rougher than my parents 4yr old Shih Tzu (who's now terrified of him). In fact, I've never known a cat to play so hard! And it's all paws, no claws. He's hugely friendly, and scarily confident. I had a house party a week ago, the first time he'd encountered more than one 'new' person (had around 15 noisy, drunk people) and he wanted to get to know everyone.

Anyways, here he is. Answers on a post card please!:

Could you re-host it so that I don't have to log on.

Ah drat.

I'll see if I can resize the pictures.

After looking through some of the impossibly perfect (no pun) cats on here, like the Bengals and whatnot, I'm not sure I'm even bothered anymore - he's a little rat bag by comparison! Ha.

Definitely some Bengal in there. From the markings and behaviour. Also Bengals have a kind of satiny lustre to their fur that you don't appreciate until you see it in full sunlight, which would fit with what you've described.

I'm guessing some ginger alley cat got in there and seized his chance with a pampered Bengal queen.

Oh, we have one of those. Granted, not ginger and a bit spotty, though.

The vet calls it 'domestic short hair'.

The markings look like our British shorthair but one thing for certain, you bought the scratch post/playstand thing from Pets at Home

Haha, yeah it came from Pets at Home. He's destroyed it. It's shredded, the ungrateful sh*t. Ha.

Would be fun if there's some Bengal in there! True Bengals look absolutely stunning.

BSH with some Bengal - grandparent as the BSH gene is a bit stronger looking at his front/tummy
