Our 15 month old had all his vaccinations as puppy, but are they really necessary in an adult dog? He's a sociable fella and plays with any dog going.

There are a fair number of studies [particularly from the US) claiming to show that dogs maintain adequate titre levels for 3-5 years, making yearly boosters unnecessary.

It would probably cost more to test those titre levels than just have the boosters done though. Your also dog gets a check over when you get the boosters too so we just do it yearly.

Actually they are only vaccinated with full vaccine every 3 yrs. He will get a full vaccine at his first booster then the next 2 year he will only be vaccinated against Leptospirosis and Parainfluenza (the tire levels on these lower after a year.

Vaccine protocols are continually being adjusted to try and ensure over vaccinating is reduced.

The reason we don't see these diseases so much anymore is due to vaccinating so should be done esp if your dog mixes with others.
