Chicken leaving blood in hen house
Discussion
Afternoon all
Bit worried, other hens have come and gone, but good old Wilma has been with us since we inherited her 2.5 years ago. She's some sort of hybrid egg laying machine of unspecified age. She's indestructible - survived fox attacks, numerous escapes, grabby children, sour crop, and gawd know what else. Now, however, I think she's poorly
Currently going through what seems to have been about the 14th moult of the year - because of the light I don't see them much at the mo, but I went to check on her just now and first of all, she was in the hutch, which is odd (she's off lay as she's moulting), but more worryingly, on the edge of her perch there was a big gloop of blood where her bum hangs over
We currently only have one hen who's too fat and crap at flying to get on perches, so I know it must be from her.
Anybody able to offer any advice? Have added ACV to water, and tbh they are due a worm, so will do that shortly.
