Short of breaking it's neck, how do you keep a cat from molesting a Christmas tree?

It's almost like the very act has become an symbol of defiance against an oppressive regime (MY regime). As he confidently struts by, head held high to knack a bauble I've only seconds earlier pulled him off.

Please help, because at the moment either Christmas is getting canceled, or his ability to transmit information to his central nervous system is.

You don't

It's a tree, cats climb trees, you've just put one in his house for his pleasure smile

Our two went a bit mad when the tree arrived and now they just hide under it. I think it's because they have nabbed all the chocolate and hanging ginger biscuits biggrin

Both of mine used to sit under the tree for hours, they loved it.

So far my two have totally ignored it with the exception of playing with the odd bauble that's fallen off.
Mind you its an artificial tree, not real, so that may make a difference.

Mines real and my cat isn't bothered by it in the slightest.

It even has an owl hanging from it

My sister has finally decorated the Christmas tree but I cant help think the two furry buggers will destroy it.

This was Ishtar last year.

Our cat started attacking the tree so my wife shot it with the water gun (training aid..) a minute later it strolled past the tree and without breaking it's stride belted a decoration while staring straight at the wife,I am in trouble for falling about laughing at the cats sheer defiance!
