Take a look at the Pat Hasting video. Then pick your pooch.

You can't pick by looking at a photo.

Get there get on the floor with them and see which is nosy and comes up to you, take a squeeky toy which dog wants to investigate same with a bunch of keys which dog investigates the noise.

I'd avoid the dog that avoids all the above.

Going to meet them early January and will be looking for the most forthcoming pup. OH says the one on the left so I chose the middle one. He looks mischievous.

Best advice I got was avoid the most active/boisterous/inquisitive and pick the quiet one. In the long run it'll make life easier.

I agree, going by the photos the middle one looks a devious little sod with bags of *cough* 'character'

Except if it's scared of everything and ends up being nervous aggressive.

I used to compete and teach agility and would always prefer a naughty up for it dog as it's easier to teach, dogs that were laid back quiet were hard work due them not really wanting anything as a reward compared to say a real mentalist who thought a tennis ball was the best reward ever.

The one on the right looks a bit too serious while the one in the middle has what appears to be a very cold wet nose.

I picked between the 2. Not the quietest and not the loudest. Seems to be working out good so far :-)
