My friend's dog is not welcome
Discussion
We've got a difficult situation where we are going to have to inform a very good friend that his family pet is no longer welcome in our house. He will understand without doubt, but nonetheless an awkward situation still.
We have two dogs and two cats all living in harmony in the house, but when the friend first brought his dog around it tried to kill one of the cats. Since then we have shut the cat in a room whilst he visits. Then the next visit his dog did a pee on our utility room floor. The visit after that, the lounge floor. The last visit it chased cat number two and when my daughter went to bed, she found it had shat on her bed!!!
So what the f*** is the little bast@rd doing? I take it this is a territorial thing? AND, can I assume it will always do it?

I'm in the same boat only I own the "unwelcome" dog.
Although not to the Sam extent my dog only chased their cats whilst in the garden, BT when the were inside ignored them.
But, tbh i wouldn't trust her not to give it a go indoors if provoked.
My best mate (yes he was my best man) didn't need to say anything to me, I just don't take her... It's a bit of a pain as they live 100miles away so when we're going out I drop the dog off at the dog sitters.

Frankly the first time your friend's dog tried to hurt your cat, he should have stopped bringing it to your house.
Agreed. Can anyone explain the dog's behaviour regarding the pee etc? What is the dog trying to say?

A friend does dog minding and finds that often, although owners say there dog is "house trained", the first time her back is turned it'll piss on the floor. Truth is unless the dog has been in a lot of houses, it's actually just "their house trained" and won't soil in it's/thier home; Your house is a different matter.
Though I'd suspect this is just a matter of stress and a dislike for cats. If mine had done that he'd have been left at home or in the car on any other visit without having to be asked.

I don't think I will be complaining about my own dog again.
You have two cats and two dogs? Fruit loop.
Two chickens as well!....do you think I should start building an ark?You have two cats and two dogs? Fruit loop.

Badly behaved dog in friend's house? Mine would never be taken in again, why would there be any question, same goes for kids. If your friend can't see how to behave by not bringing the dog into a place where it will be unhappy/stressed, let alone cause a stupid amount of angst, then not really a sensible dog owner or friend.
