Apparently the Swedes are 'agog' at the discovery of this super rat:

It looks a bit like a giant pouched rat, but I could be wrong. If it is, it's probably someone's escaped pet frown

I'm fairly sure that's a bog-standard wild brown rat.

These can reach quite a size when there's plenty of food about. I saw one in the fishing harbour in Essaouira that was almost as big as the local cats.

I was thinking the same, my pet rats got bloody big and Ive seen them as big as in the pic on the farm.
