Great tit chicks
Discussion
Please note I don't mean chicks with great tits lol. Latest saga in our garden. (please see my lad's vid clip under my thread re blackbirds nesting)
We have robins, blackbirds and great tits all of which we feed daily. There are four great tit chicks which have now fledged. They are getting ever closer to being fed, coming as far as the washing line next to the adults. By a bush one side of the garden there is a stand upon which the robins and tits perch regularly. This morning one of the robins flew back on it with a nice fat waxworm in its beak, and one of the great tit chicks flew next to it and opened its beak at the robin. Never seen anything like that before. Amazing.

what did the robin do? not usually known as being team players!
I saw a jackdaw cadge a meal from a crow last year in my garden which Id also never seen before. I don't know if the crow didn't realise it wasn't a young crow it was feeding, or if they're just generally helpful!
The robin? He just gave a scornful look and flew away with waxworm in beak leaving a disappointed chick behind.
