He's 8 weeks o:Dld, a male Rotweiler and currently doing really well.

Just a couple of accidents inside but that was our fault for misinterpreting the signs. He sits when you want him to, still is pretty bitey but not aggressively so.

He was fine on a 6 hour journey back from Cumbria and is settling in nicely. His first jab was today at the vets so he is a bit knackered but eating well, he's transferring over to a raw diet and is leaving his dry food after only 7 meals, preferring the cows heart and raw nugget food. No sloppy pooh yet so i'll try a stronger raw mix for tonight.

This was him just 3 weeks previously.

Can't believe we waited so long, a 14 week old baby and 8 week old Rotty, what could go wrong biggrin

Lovely - good luck with the training - I found it hard going at times with my GSD. Is this your first dog?

Enjoy. Remember to run them "lean" - I hate seeing fat puppies (easier to keep them lean on a raw diet too) and often wonder how much damage is done to joints because of it.

He's my first dog, my wife has looked after a few though, 2 from puppies and has always had dogs in her parents house.

We were after a Tibetan Mastiff but couldn't commit to a purchase due to the little one coming along so this was an impulse decision a few weeks ago.

His diet I'm hoping will go well, he is eating mainly raw as I get him off the dry food and I think I was over feeding him for his first few meals, he's adjusting now and I'm getting better with his amounts. Liver cake will be made tomorrow for his treats and bribery. Fingers crossed I can sleep further away from him tonight.

His Dad was pretty big and very healthy looking, I see a few Rotties about and they always seem very heavy at the waist.

Crate training is going ok so fingers crossed we keep at a nice gradual improvement.

Roll on his first walkies in 20 days.

Dave!

I'm no expert but try and discourage the play biting as best you can - especially if you have kids around. Our GSD was really bad for it but we worked hard to discourage her whereas our neighbour's dog is really bad and she is always on edge when kids are about. Other than that, enjoy.
