Identify this dead fish!

Spotted washed up on the Yorkshire coast.

Any ideas?

Looks like the remnants of a ray to me.

I'm no ray expert but it looks like the cause of death was malnutrition.

Trust me, it's dead. Dead Thornbacks often look like that.

Those thornyback skate wings are a bh to prep but grilled with black pepper and lashings of butter ..sarap !
