Was in the kitchen and noticed something out of the corner of my eye, thought to myself what are the chances that it's one of those baby birds that crop up on PH...

so went to look and found it blimmin well is!!. Very docile and can flutter about a bit so not imobile, and not sure what the issue is yet as don't want to over handle and freak it out.

Have put in an small open top box so free to leave and tried some sunflower seeds but no interest.

What do i do now

Tell him his clothes are sexy, rub an ice cube on his chest, and then snap him till it hurts. I think they like that.

Have put the box on top of the fence post under where I saw it fall. The tree there is a purple flowered buddleja type, and can't see a nest, but saw similar birds about so hoping mum may come and get it?

That's probably the best you can do for it. I think it's a young goldfinch.

End of thread smile

Sat there a while not doing anything, then all of a sudden moved a bit and flew off.
