Do spiders have toes?

I ask because a Scottish lady who hates spiders tells me that the spider on her wall is Scottish, she knows this because she says he has a wee Scottish bow tie on. I don't see how a spider with 8 legs, but no arms or fingers, can do up a bow tie (or any other tie come to that) but she claims that the spider does the tie up with his toes. Is that possible?
