Prescription meds: what to do

I recently lost my dogs and I have about £70 worth of one prescription meds (Cardisure) left over. The place I got them from doesn't want them back. What I can do with them? I really don't want to just throw them in the bin....

Either post them through their letterbox, or stick them in the post to the people who sold them to you. They have facilities for disposal, you don't. And their profit margin should envisage this sort of situation.

Would a rescue place not appreciate them?

You can't. Vets cannot resell drugs that have left their premises (they can dispose of them for you)

We can't even donate them to animal charities anymore!! Used to do that a lot with returned drugs. A rescue may take them from you but I'm not convinced they're allowed to.

Presumably the reason for this is because someone 'might' have laced them with cyanide...?

If they're sealed in a blister pack I can't see a problem.

Technically we shouldn't even refund those, stupid red tape stuff as always. Some vets I'm sure would use discretion in some cases, such as time off premises (eg less than 24hrs) and how well they know the client.

Well, I was thinking more of the 'donating to rescue centres/charities' rather than a refund - but I suppose the issue then is that they would/could be administered without prescription.
