When our last dog was younger, we'd cage him when we popped out, to stop him ransacking the place. We locked him in one day and overlooked a book on top of the cage, we'd bought as a present and had accidentally left on there to wrap (the cage was in the study). Needless to say, the back cover of the book had been ripped in an attempt to pull it into the cage for want of anything else to destroy.
