Help identify mini beast

[Easternlight]

While picking some wild blackberries earlier I found several of these beetles.
I've had a look through a few books but can't find them.
edit only about 5mm long
Any Ideas?

Had a juniper shieldbug land on the windscreen while parked yesterday. They always look like something from outer space. Pretty cool.
