Signed, its been the Military's policy for a long time to "retire" dogs at a certain age, to me as long as they have not been used as guard dogs (those ones can be vicious little buggers), then I don't see any problem with having these retired properly to live out their lives after their military service smile

Signed

I have signed several petitions on change.org.

They have been quite successful, so hopefully this one will be too

Signed and shared on FB. This is utterly appalling. Can you imagine, those dogs are probably that well-trained that they will just sit or lie there for the injection without a murmur. Truly heartless, I'm genuinely aghast.

i think if you do such a dangerous job, then even as a dog you deserve more than being put out to pasture. they deserve proper benefits of duty, i.e monies to look after them after they retire, it is heartless to treat them like this.

It happened at the end of the Vietnam conflict, such a sad vindictive way to treat mans best friend. frown

Wow, totally unacceptable. Signed.

At least it's ended well for Kevin, Dazz and Driver as they were rehomed after Defence Secretary was contacted.

They NY Post article below was a sobering read. Typical, money first mentality with private companies getting involved with military contracts.

Some of the press are saying the 2 Army dogs have been reprieved but McNab hasn't updated the petition page yet.

Very sad reading there, horrible way to repay those dogs! Cant imagine how frustrating it must be for the handlers, especially dealing with returning from war themselves. frown

ETA - Seems the petition was successful, I went to sign it now and its closed, so at least that's good news for these three.
