Thyroid problems in dogs

Morning all could I ask if anyone on here has had problems with the thyroid in their dogs and how the symptoms showed themselves I have done some internet research but it would be helpful if anyone could share their experience Thank you.

Hyper or hypo? One may cause weight gain and the other weight loss. The dog may be active or inactive. A vet may spot this and give you a proper answer.

Dogs very rarely get hyperthyroidism it is nearly always hypothyroidism.

The most classic symptoms are
Generally lethargic
Weight gain (even with reduced food intake)
Bilateral alopecia often on the flanks (even hair loss on both sides of the body)
Slow heart rate.

The only way to actually diagnose though is through blood testing so you need to see your vet.
