We have a few spiders in our house like this one below.

It looks a bit like some of the false widow pictures I've seen online, anyone know if this is what it is? I'm aware they are not usually particularly dangerous but it would be good to know nonetheless.

Looks like it. I've got a lot them in my shed, they are not a bother normally, they are relatively slow and will do their best to stay out of your way.

This one is in the kids play room and I think we have a couple more in the conservatory.

It sure is!

If indoors get it 'Dysoned''

You can tell by their webs, look like parachute cords dropping down to a single point

We’ve had quite a few recently, I think they are False Widows too. Never really seen them around before. Not a problem though.

My only concern with them is that a) there are definitely a LOT more now than there used to be and 2) they kill all the other spiders (except daddy longlegs spiders which weirdly turn out to be fking nails!) I really like having wolf spiders hunting round the house but the false widows seem to get them now frown oh and they eat bees too and I really like bees!

I like my wolf/house spiders as well so look after them. I've had to get rid of those delicate long legged spiders which tend to live high up because they're venomous and kill the house spiders.

Had one crawling on me after it fell off my t shirt as i put it on. Must have got in from the washing line.

How does anyone like having spiders in their house lol. I always safely put them outside. Wolf spiders creep me out. fast and big.

I have a glass of choice for catching them.

False Widow spiders are an invasive species and can give a nasty bite. They are pretty much the only thing I'll kill rather than put outside.

Do you mean Pholcus? They look slow and ungainly but can move like lightning. Almost as smart as me... and will eat all other spiders. They're the only ones I go out of my way to render two-dimensional; the rest get rehomed outside.

I do indeed. They struggle to walk and look sooo fragile. Was a surprise to me that they are ninja assassins. It’s a good disguise!

Definitely not a false widow - they have a very shiny abdomen with the distinctive tear-drop/black window shape.

It’s a ground hunter of some sort - charges after stuff, jumps on it and fks it’s st up!

I've been bitten by a False Widow and it wasn't much fun. My finger swelled up and went like corned beef. Even my wife – then still a nurse and who'd seen some things – was slightly alarmed. I love all the creatures of the earth inc spids, but those particular bds can FRO.

Well I've now managed to evict the three large ones we've seen in the house but, we have since seen at least one baby one in the conservatory so it's not looking good for the future!

In addition, I had a little clear out of the shed and found a little cluster of the fkers, not as big as the ones in the house but still, it seems like we have a little problem. frown
