A week short of her 12th Birthday.
Still chasing tennis balls like a 2 year old two days ago.
She'll be a big miss around here.
A great friend, totally trusting, and not an ounce of nastiness in her (unless you were trying to get her off the sofa but that was all show)

. Like many others I’ve been in your shoes before.
Thank you all for some very kind comments, a couple of which had me in tears.
Physically gone but in our memories for ever. Even her little misdemeanours are now happily recounted.
The greeding at the table, trying to reach stuff on the kitchen bench, trying to eat sticks and horse poo (ugh), resistance to being moved off the sofa..etc
And the total love and affection she gave for almost 12 years.

So sorry to hear this. We had to say goodbye to our chocolate lab 10 days ago. Like many others here, I know exactly how it feels.Physically gone but in our memories for ever. Even her little misdemeanours are now happily recounted.

We're still talking about and talking to Barney all the time - overflowing with happy memories.

We took our other dog (Skye Terrier) out this morning. We usually handle one each. My wife just said she missed her good friend Daisy who would be so eager to go, desperate to be given her tennis ball, seemed so odd without her.
It's funny, the two dogs were never that close but even the terrier seems to be missing her.
