Just had some tenants move out of a house I rent. When they moved in 16 years ago, they put some small fish koi / goldfish in the pond we had. They have left the fish, which appear to have done well. They have outgrown the pond, it's only small and some of them are well over a foot long now. I don't have a pond at my house and wondered what the recommendations are for finding them a new home?

I'd try to find a forum for Koi owners. It's quite common for fish to be given away when they get to big.

Really bad idea koi or goldfish are not native to British waters or lake and will likely devastate the eco system already in place.

I think the freed Terrapins have already taken care of the eco system devastation in our park boating lake.

Find a local fish keepers page on Facebook. There's one for Berkshire. They'll give them a home and know how to transport them.

It's also illegal. there is a very real risk of introducing KHV, a notifiable disease, especially if the origin of the fish is unknown.

best bet is a koi group on facebook. there will be someone who can rehome them but you will probably need some photos.
if you can get them in a bowl or paddling pool or similar that makes it much easier.
