We've had our Working Cocker Spaniel Stanley for a week now, so they're 9 weeks old, and if you know working cockers they're full of energy.
For reference our last dogs were a collie & Welsh Springer Spaniel, and it would run rings round those.

Anyhow we are active people and until the puppy can walk any distances (NB they haven't had their 2nd jab yet, so are currently walking NO distances..) we'll need something to carry them in, in a month or 2. We have a sling that we have quickly realised is useless, so had anyone had any experience with any specific dog back-packs. We are thinking of a backpack as anywhere super-busy we can wear it on the front instead, to keep an eye in him.

Many thanks

There was a photo posted by Square Leg on this thread recently, but you can't see a make (or even whether it's a specialist dog backpack):

I asked for recommendations myself a while ago, without much success:

Sorry, not very helpful, but hope you get some feedback. In the meantime, enjoy your pup!

Actually, thinking about it again, Ruffwear is a good make (we've had a number of their harnesses) and they are designed for 'outdoors' enthusiasts. I would imagine their backpack would be well made:

Being Ruffwear, you will probably be able to resell somewhere like eBay if and when your pup outgrows it.
