Dive Bombing Pidgeon's

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this? Yesterday whilst driving I was dive bombed in a moving vehicle by a pidgeon, the second time it looked as though it was going to commit suicide. On the same drive I saw 2 other birds dive bomb moving cars. I see it nearly everytime I am out and about. Is this a new thing?

Most birds will dive aggressively at things that are near their nest when they are rearing their young. Maybe they think your car wants to eat their hatchlings.
