I know a few on here have enjoyed my doggo photos of my wonderful boy Mack over the years.

It's taken me a week to write this but Mack left us last Monday evening very very suddenly at 12 years old.

One minute running round the woods in the afternoon not knowing he was keeping from us the fact he had a large tumour growing near his heart.

He collapsed a few hours later at home and then the awful news and decision to make in the small hours.

No sign of any issues or illness at all up to this point at all.

I never could believe that you could feel so heartbroken, lost and empty as I feel now.

Everyone please give your doggos an extra hug this evening please.

I'm sorry you've had this to experience. As someone who lost a 17 year old in December, I can only say with certainty that no words, however well meant, can take away the pain.

'' Sadder still to watch it die than never to have known it '' is a lyric from a song from my favourite band. Never a truer word.

It's horrible losing a pet, but a hell of a way to go. Running around happy and then a swift exit. It's a way nicer ending for all involved.

Sorry for your loss.

I’m very sorry for your loss. I’m in the same boat, my dog Coco was right as rain last Tuesday, admitted to the veterinary hospital on Thursday and we made the difficult decision to put her to sleep on Saturday. All caused by Evans Syndrome, which is something I’d never heard of until last week. It’s the suddenness of it all that’s hard to make sense of.

It sucks, especially as it was so sudden & unexpected.
