Importing a Dog

If I wanted to import a puppy from Europe what paperwork should I be looking for.I know about Pet passports here,but if the dog is under 6 months old I presume the parents are checked.Is it a nightmare or do I have to import an adult and breed from it.I will be grateful for any comments.

It may be worth contacting DEFRA (or at least trying to look on their website). It's a gamble because I assume you won't get to meet the parents. Not all countries are part of pets passport scheme so need to check this as well (though most of Europe is now)

Rules and guidelines chnage all the time so this would be a good step to get upto date advice (hopefully) I don't know whether Kennel Club would be able to advise on this or not but it may be worth a try.
