Recommend me a family holiday - Italy
Discussion
Right - my turn to be asking for info, instead of the other way around.
My kids (currently 3 and 4 years old) love pizza and pasta, so I've promised them they shall see Italy. As they are so young, sights are less important than just immersing them in Italian culture and enjoying being there. Personally I've lived in Turin and done Rome/Tuscany inc Siena,Pisa+Florence/Naples/Amalfi/Venice/Lakes/Sicily. One of my favourite ever holidays was in Maratea, 200km South of Naples.
Somewhere off the beaten path is fine, villa with pool is probably the best bet. Nearby restaurants a must, a beach too within a short drive is preferable.

When I was 15 my parents took me and my two younger siblings to Italy. We stayed in Positano on the Amalfi coast and took trips to local spots like Ravello, Naples and saw Pompei.
To this day it was the most memorable and fantastic holiday.
So much so that I plan on taking the OH there for our honeymoon to show him the sights too.
The gelato is worth it on it's own. (I was too young at the time to sample the limoncello)
