Eastern Europe Road Trip
Discussion
In July I'm planning on going on a road trip style holiday with the missus. We will be flying into Bucharest in Romanina and then driving to Croatia, Slovenia, and Hungary before driving back to Bucharest.
My question is will I have any difficulty driving between these countries? And if I want to cut through the top of Serbia will this cause any problems?
Also, if anyone else has been to these places feel free to recommend places to go/things to do.

Your biggest issue will be getting out of and back into Bucharest. Last time I was there, took 4 hours from the airport to the centre of town in the middle of the day!
The traffic is appalling. Most the roads (with very few exceptions) are terrible so don't expect rapid transit from A to B.
All this though isn't really that important as you're visiting one of the most beautiful parts of Europe if not the world so just go with the flow and enjoy!

Slovenia is a beautiful country with laid back population. Ljubijana is a lovely city packed with reasonably priced restaurants. Look out for a Pizaria on the banks of the river. If you are routing to Slovenia you'll probably be travelling through northern Croatia - is so try Opatija and Rovinj - both good places to stay. Opatija is very upmarket but with relatively inexpensive hotels.
