Hey,

Trying to find a holiday for me and my girlfriend, budget of around £700-800 per person for 10/11 nights. Anymore than that and I'd rather go the Caribbean for 2 weeks for £1k. We would rather go somewhere in Europe though for 10/11 nights then a few nights in Abersoch/Cornwall. I've found a few nice hotels under budget on a B&B board, but someone in work was saying Madeira is full of "old" people. Average temp. didn't look too hot either for June.

We are both 22 and want a few nice resturants and bars, not looking for an 18-30 type holiday. Just somewhere we can get nice food and have a couple of drinks of an evening, and chill out in the day. Without spending a fortune on food and drink either.

So has anyone been and would recommend it for us? Or any ideas on where we should go?

Thanks in advance

Good place for food.

Went there a few months ago and stayed at Choupana hills in the mountain overlooking funchal.
Great restaurant at the hotel, and you have lots of good places to eat for all sorts of budgets all over.

Reids Palace and an Italian place I cant remember the name off.

Folks have been & loved it, little or no beaches, hilly, green but very beautiful.

Has a great tarmac rally that you may be lucky to catch if the timing is right.
