I have a flight on friday with them. I have read through all the rubbish and it seemes the easiest and cheapest thing to do is check in online. I have already filled in my passport details. If I follow the link on the homepage you are taken to a page with only the ability to print or open your boarding passes no confirmation you have checked in. I have printed both passes. I have only hand luggage.

Am I correct in thinking I just go straight to security at the airport as I have my boarding pass and no hold luggage which is the point of checking in. The FAQ on the site wasnt that clear.

Yes - correct - got straight to security when you get to the airport.
Make sure your one piece of hand luggage is within their size rule, and you'll be fine.

Cheers, I thought that was the case but just wasn't sure. It really wouldn't hurt to just add a line or two to that page on their website saying all you have to do is print these and your done.

I'm flying easyJet in July and have been wondering what the on-line check in consists of.

So it's just printing out the boarding pass and that's it?

Check in online. Print boarding pass.

If you have hold luggage go to "Fast Bag Drop" (although there is nothing 'fast' about it. It's just a usual check-in queue).

If hand luggage only go straight to "Departures"

Out of curiosity, when would you have to be in the departure lounge if say the flight was at 9pm?
The reason I ask is that last saturday, me and a mate were travelling from Stanstead to Glasgow, the check in gate closed at 8.10pm, after getting stuck in traffic for 2 hours we didnt get to the airport until 8.30pm and rushed through security ( we only had hand luggage) and in to departure lounge where we waited for 20 mins to board.
We were bricking it incase we wouldn't be allowed on but there didn't seem to be an issue turning up to the departure lounge 30 mins before flight is due to leave.
