I've visited a couple of times, just for a day. It's a pretty desolate place, very hot and dry, not much going on, not a holiday destination. Ok I suppose if you stay in a good hotel and want to sit by the pool all day, can't think of much else to do there TBH!

The JAL resort is very nice. Sunbeds on the beach for 2. The restaurants are good as well. Not somewhere to go when you want activities, although you can go fishing.

The drive through the hills is very scenic and will remind you of your cornering technique. Just watch out for sleeping policeman that are the same colour as the road.

It's far too hot now. Best time to go is from October - March. Weather will be in the mid to high 20s then.

Skip Fujairah and do Oman. Much nicer.

This. Fujairah is a horrid transfer time from the airport too. Fly into Muscat and stay at the Chedi or the Hyatt, both will be cheap if you insist on going in the summer. Oman is usually a little less hot/humid than the gulf destinations (but not always!).
