We're looking at doing a last minute deal away for a week in the next 5-10 days or so. We've looked at Cape Verde, Sorrento, quieter bits of Ibiza and Lanzarote. We're in our 30's (not clubbing types) but equally not octogenerians either!! Can the PH collective let me know what your views/experiences are of said resorts or suggest others. We would like sun, nice hotel, not too many kids, beach (optional), good food and all for about £1500.
Appreciate any responsessmile
Ta! Rich

We've just got back from a week in Puerto Pollensa, lovely place - loads of nice places to eat, nice beaches, marina etc, hardly any football shirts... wink

Ta chaps!
Just booked a week in Es Cana, Ibiza. Seems pretty quite but handy for Santa Eulalia and with some nearby bars and restaurants. Got a good deal for next week, happy days cool

When I was married we went here for a week or two every year and stayed either at Sis Pins or the La goleta

The Sis Pins is basic posh, lovely hotel and was a Globespan hotel until it went bust. We used to go there every year and it all started when we went in to find out more info. We booked a week for the following year (front balcony room) and left a small deposit.
Following year we got a taxi from the airport and checked in and paid when we left. We booked for the next year only this time no deposit!
After a couple of years we found Globespan had bought it and we had to go through them and found we had to fly from Scotland and the prices had nearly doubled.

That led us to the La Goleta, a fine restaurant with rooms upstairs, again pretty basic but as we only slept in them it wasn't a problem. We got really friendly with the couple who owned it and again booked the following year and paid on the final day.

It's been a while since I was last there but I doubt it is much different but it is just the loveliest places to go and a lot of mainland Spanish holiday there. There are a lot of fabulous villas there too as one year there were eight of us sharing a huge villa for a fortnight.

Must go places to eat are The Stay on the marina and TriBeca

There are 3 restaurants owned by the same guy, can't remember their names but they are excellent VFM. I could find out if you do go.

Give them both a ring, they might have something available as they are in your price range.

I tied to book Sis Pins but they were fully booked. Instead, we stayed just a few metres away at the Daina Hotel, 4th floor sea view room, and not a bad view either...

We found the Daina more expensive and a bit 'old school' (didn't stay there but did have a look in) but their evenings by the pool were quite good....... sometimes.
The Sis Pins was always full before Globespan got their grubby mitts on it and filled it with Jocks! I'm not surprised it is back to the 'good ole days'
