My wife and I are planning a weekend trip to Northern France by car/Eurotunnel on the 30th of July.

I have done the 'usual' searches on PH and internet for hotels etc, but does anyone have recommendations for good hotels (we are "foodies") approxmiately 2-3 hours from Calais.

We have stayed here http://www.lachartreuse.com/ in 2010 and really enjoyed it, but fancy something new/different.

I wondered about this place in Lille:

Only an hour from Calais but a fantastic restaurant

I tend to look on Logis de France website http://www.logishotels.com/en.html which has excellent hotels and grades the restaurants - work out your route and use Logis to plan your stays

Go to Brugge or Gent. I love Belgium.
