I was thinking about this when the weather was good last week, I probably wouldn't feel inclined to go abroad as much, we tend to go to Spain 5 or 6 times a year, although part of it is for a change of scene, I doubt I'd go as much if it was consistently nicer here.

I hate the sun. And heat. It's "just right" here.

When it's hot, i want it cold. When it's cold, i want it hot. So, yes. To Antarctica.

Yes. Better scenery for the most part. It's not even that I demand hot weather, just some consistent weather where I know it won't slash down without warning.

I prefer dry heat compared to the humidity we suffer here.

I'm perfectly comfortable in 30-35oC Mediterranean heat - 30-35oC here is utterly miserable.

It depends what you want from your holidays. If you want to eat cooked breakfasts and drink fizzy lager in the Playa's then I'm sure the weather would make a difference.

If you want a real change, then you need to get away IMO. Life's too short to spend it in one country.

(I'm speaking as someone who now sees the UK as a tourist destination BTW)

Yes. On the scale of things I hate about the UK, the climate is fairly near the bottom - I quite like it truth be told.

I think the climate is just about perfect in the South East.

I wouldn't want to live in the North, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere much less rainy either, as I like the green countryside.

Equally, whilst it might be nice if it were a bit warmer and sunnier on the average weekend, I wouldn't want t to be any hotter than it is on the 5 days a week I have to spend at work in a suit.

I've lived on the Med in France & Spain, and worked all over Southern Europe and the Middle East. Great climates for lounging around in shorts with a cold beer, but not for a great deal else!

I love my UK, however I have been fortunate enough to travel to various corners of the world, these journeys have expanded the mind and make my life far more interesting, the opportunity to travel abroad expands the mind and broadens one’s life experiences

Sometimes I go on holiday just to chill out for a week by a pool or on the beach. To that end if the weather were say like the Med here thaen that wouldn't be needed ever again. Then again my dad lives in Spain and the constant heat would do my head in if I had to work in it, most locals spend the summer hiding form the heat.

I like to ski allot, and although I've had some good days up in Scotland and even 20 mins from my house in the Lakes the last couple of years it's just not the same as say the alps for snow reliability or infustructure.

I also like to go on holidays to experience things you can't in this country in terms of culture, sightseeing etc.

I live in the Lake District and it would be great if I could randomly pick a week in the summer to be off work and just sit in the garden but it hardly ever is reliable enough. You can't even say today to people lets have a BBQ next weekend it could be nice it could piss down all weekend....

The climate in the UK is generally fine, unless you live north of Petersfield ;-)

For me, I enjoy the long summer here which seems to start in April and finish in June, I then get my head down and so some work and then bugger off to SE Asia or Oz for a few weeks over the winter. It works very well. IMAO people think that August should be flaming hot, they are fools!
