Best Place To Get Flights To Florida
Discussion
We are hoping to take the kids to Florida at easter & I was wondering where the best place is to get flights from an a reasonable cost?
Also, as sad as it may be, I'm going to be hiring a muscle car for the fortnight, where's the best place to contact?
Thanks
M

I use www.skyscanner.net as it lists the prices from the likes of ebookers, netflights etc.
It will also suggest cheaper alternatives to the dates and airports you've selected. I booked flights to Florida in November and thanks to skyscanner found that flying in to Tampa was cheaper than Orlando.

The dates are not flexable as we have to tie in with the school holidays I'm afraid, we have no choice on that front. It will also suggest cheaper alternatives to the dates and airports you've selected. They don't have to be, just saying that you can play about with it to see what may work out cheaper, like I'm flying in to Tampa and before I looked on skyscanner I didn't know that there were direct flights to there from this country so would have only been looking at Orlando or Miami. Also decent guide here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-flig...

Just as a note ...
It's now often cheaper to fly from Holland Schipel than from London. The taxes for the short haul to amsterdam are less
But that involves creating 2 tickets (to avoid Brown's envy tax). And if anything goes wrong with the first flight then you have no cover from the airline regarding the second flight (travel insurance might help). You would also have to collect luggage and check it in again. It's now often cheaper to fly from Holland Schipel than from London. The taxes for the short haul to amsterdam are less
Also I'd strongly recommend avoiding KLM for intercontinental flights.
You not going to be able to escape the fact its 500-600 a ticket wherever you go particularly that time of year.
We went in April just gone, and we flew to DC had three nights there and then down to Orlando, all with delta, all for the same price as flying direct to Orlando.
So maybe think about a few days somewhere else before hand. 2 weeks is plenty for Orlando itself because other than the theme parks it is a right dive!!

Why do you say that?
After many flights over many years I've settled on KLM as first choice!

And I've never had any complaints about the films on offer, or the equipment used to display them!
Granted, there are some 'better' airlines but KLM (and thier partners) fly to all of the places I visit (and there are many of them!!) and I can build up plenty of loyalty points. Their prices are normally quite competetive and their flight times usually suit me perfectly!
Interesting comments PD - but after one return trip (LHR-AMS-JNB) on KLM, I swore never to use them again for long distance. Maybe they have updated now, but that one trip lost them a customer for life.
This was in 2003, when Virgin had already been using clever technology in the their planes for years. They also lost my luggage (in JNB...) but that's another story!
