"You have booked 9 cars sir".

So I called the rental company in Chicago before I boarded my flight in Manchester and made my reservation for later that day.
After landing, got on the shuttle bus to the rental terminal. Confirmed that I was a 'Prefered' member, to which the driver said "thats funny, there are 5 cars under your name"?
Got to the terminal and a lady asks, "are you Tony ###", "Yes" I replied, upon which she tells me that there are 9 cars under my name and against my charge card !
"Dont worry" she says, "weve cancelled 8 of them".
So, I get the contract and take the car shes directed me to, to the exit gate.
Girl on gate, "this is the wrong car sir, cant let you out".
So I drive back to the Office where they apologise and give me the corrected contract and so off to the gate again.
Girl on Gate, " I thought your name was Tony, this says Tom, cant let you out.
So I drive back to the Office where they apologise and give me a new corrected contract and so off to the gate again.
Girl on gate, "have a nice day".
Get on the I90 toll road, approaching the toll booths and decide to use the in car EZPAY unit. Past the point of no return, open the unit, which falls in half and is an empty box. Someone has stolen the receiver thing.
Great, I think as I sail throught the control with cameras flashing.
So now expect a ticket billed to me through the rental company. Also, I returned the car at 3:00am so no one to speak to about the missing EZPAY unit so now also waiting for the rental company to try and charge me for steeling the unit.
Good job I'm going on holiday next week or I may have got a bit grumpy.
Anyway, flew down to Philadelphia on Tuesday morning.

"b
ks" I said.
And its all true.
Lastly, the Philly rental is a Chevy Malabu. I've never had an automatic where it actually jumps out 2nd gear before ?!?!

I once rented a Chevy Cavalier Convertible in Florida. It was the sportiest car Hertz had at the time...
We were late and trying to get back to where we were staying in time to meet up with some girls (as you do) so I was literally flat out along the freeway, gradually approaching terminal velocity when the auto box decided to kick-down at about 130mph
I slowed down a bit then built up speed again and it did it again
and again...
I figured it was their idea of a speed limiter...

I drove a bus once that tried to change into second at 50mph. Nearly went through the windscreen with the engine braking, followed by 40 passengers...We were late and trying to get back to where we were staying in time to meet up with some girls (as you do) so I was literally flat out along the freeway, gradually approaching terminal velocity when the auto box decided to kick-down at about 130mph
