Would appreciate some ideas to a holiday for next week or x days away somewhere.

We have already had a two weeker a few weeks ago in the sun.
Am stumped as to what to do for next week.

I did think Vienna/Rome/saltzburg

Wifes quite pregnant so activity wise isn't a huge realistic option.

How about a few days boating on the Norfolk Broads?

How 'quite' is quite? If it's quite quite, I'd be tempted to find a quiet B&B within carrying distance of a maternity unit...sods law and all that! eek

Brugges with a visit to Paschendale/Ypres.

We only meant to stay in Brugges for a day as it looks abit twee on pic's. Got there and ending up staying for 3 days as it chilled me waaaaay too much.
We did this last year very good.

I'd be tempted to scout round for cheap flights (£200 each will get you to Palma flying Tuesday to Tuesday as an example)and book a cheap apartment on www.ownersdirect.co.uk for very little given the kids go back to school next week.

We're off camping in Scotland. If the weather is good, it'll be glorious.

If not, it'll be stty.

I think we'll pop over to Skye for a couple of days...

I'm intending to head down to Cornwall again for a week or two camping as soon as the schools go back, probably St Ives area..always a good idea rain or shine and this time of year should be less families around as we get closer to term start..

Easyjet offer 100 £100 holidays every Friday at 10am.
Not sure what dates though.

" Take a look at easyJet Holidays' fantastic range of 100 holidays for £100pp* - this Friday and every Friday at 10am! Or, you could upgrade to a £200pp* or £300pp* holiday. The choice is yours..."

Wife's just called.

So next week - nothing is booked yet. There is some decorating needing doing before the baby comes do you think it would be better to start on this now get it out of the way? Plus there are lots of jobs to do around the house.
Save the money we would spend on the holiday and spend it instead on the house & preparing for the new arrival.

He's right. My wife and I went everywhere abroad and had a great time. Once the kids arrive, you are shackled for years as to distance and destination and holidays become a military exercise in logistics, times of flights, times of feeds, sleep times, sun exposure etc. I'm not knocking it, I love my kids and enjoy holidays with them but it's a whole different world you'll never see again.

My wife always complains about the decor in our house but it's always me that has to do it in MY holiday so I've sort of persuaded her that I need holidays and it's better to do the house to a higher standard ONCE than a lower standard 2-3 times when we can better afford it. Inevitably cheap decor is always a half-baked solution. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Sounds rather good. What sort of budget is needed for this kind of exercise?
