Just booked for Florida Easter 2012. Managed, finally, to use my Virgin miles, so for just the taxes of £1200 I have got 4 of us there, in Premium Economy. Cash price is just under £4k.

Very pleased both to be able to use the miles (never been anything available on dates I wanted before), and also get seats in Premium.

Have the taxes gone up? £1200 just on tax seems a lot.

do you not mean 'virgin flight deals - well worth a look if you happen to have £2800 of virgin miles accumulated'

granted that wouldn't fit as a title, but at least wouldn't have got my hopes up of a cheap flight deal.

Nope.....not really....there seemed to be some very good prices there too....sorry if I gave false hope frown

Economy flights to Florida available for c.£2000 over Easter period.....couldn't find anything for less than £3k for this year whenever I looked...

Fuel surcharges plus Brown's envy tax are preventing me spending my miles at the moment. Not sure what I'll do with them now!

Don't wait too long. Virgin airmiles expire after 2 years of account inactivity, IIRC.

Get a Virgin Atlantic credit card, accumlate your points through purchases, and not have to spend them until you want to, I guarantee I use my card at least once a year.

My 500,000+ are safe for a while yet !

I have a shed load of bmi points, but the YQ and envy taxes are the same problem wink

But in the meantime the taxes will go up and up, and it will therefore cost you more and more when you come to use them....

Maybe?! Maybe not. Have no-where I want to use them with at the moment.

Have already used a lot of them in the past few years.
