London to Newcastle flight?

Hi guys and girls

Ive never actually done an internal UK flight before so im new to all this.

Weekend of the 21st oct we need to go upto newcastle for the weekend and wondering if anyone had any names of airlines that will be cheap and reliable.

We are looking to fly about 17.00 friday and return about 18.00 sunday.

Flybe do that route, I've used them before and they were fine.

If you're based in Berkshire, then consider Flybe out of Southampton - 3 flights a day each way IIRC.

BA also fly from Heathrow. I think Flybe from Gatwick is the only other option.

May well have changed but my brother and I flew up there a few years ago on a crack of dawn flight arriving at 7am.

We went to the car hire desk to find that it didn't open until 9am!

Worth checking what time they are open until in the evening

Yep, they never get out of bed, those dirty scrounging Northerers. Beteter give all the provinces a miss and go to London for the weekend instead.

K'nell, that is one hell of a chip on your shoulder.

It was a statement of fact, not a slur against northerners, and just may be helpful to the OP if he is not keen on walking or buses.

I've never been in an airport before where the car-hire desks weren't open during arrivals and departures, so it was not something we anticipated.
