Just wondering what the Natural History museum is like from a heights perspective? Are there areas with large drops and the like?

One of the people going (um, lets say it's not me for the sake of this conversation) is scared of heights and hates them more than broccoli spinkled with spinach, so wants to know if it's an irrational fear of heights no go zone.

Most of the main Galleries are on the ground floor.

I assume you mean the one in London?

As mentioned, the majority of stuff is on the ground floor. In the dinosaur section, part is on a metal walkway. I believe major refurb work was being done to the main hall (blue whale) last time I went. I'd say even with a severe fear of heights, plenty of things to see and enjoy there.

Yes, there are no major "whooaa" moments, and the upstairs stuff is either in corridors (stuffed mammals and birds) or not that interesting. Even the big stair case is gently sloped.

Restaurant is downstairs, and is surprisingly good. Never knew they made air dried ham in Cumbria !
