Hi Guys

I am planning a holiday for the 1st 2 weeks in June 2012.

Destination is somewhere in Italy - say a week probably in Tuscany. Villa suggestions welcome smile

I'd like to drive there and make it an interesting motoring trip - Nurburgring, Stuttgart, Stelvio, Ferrari etc

I can extend the holiday by a few days if necessary.

I'd be most grateful for suggestions, especially with practicality on driving distances, factory tours & such. Thanks thumbup

I would also be grateful for any advice please smile

I am doing the Le Mans Classic next July, then driving down to Monte Carlo for two nights via Mileau Viaduct and Route Napoleon, then over the Alps into northern Italy for a relaxing week.

We would like to stay by or near the coast (Med) in somewhere nice, but not too touristy. I have heard that unless you are in a hotel you can't even get to most of the beaches though.

One day will involve a trip up to Modena to get a pic of the car in front of its birth place, but apart from that, the rest of the time will be just relaxation.

Like I said, any advice or pointers gratefully received.

Thanks

Hello matey...very long time no talk. smile
Speak to Gruffy about the Millau and Route Napoleon....I went with his tour a few years ago....great roads. Also done the Monte Carlo and Northern Italy routes....mucho fun to be had through the tunnels.
Whereabouts do you intend staying in northerner Italy and how far into the country do you want to travel? July will indeed be tough, but all things are manageable. What are you looking for hotels, guest houses etc?

Let's catch up at BTaP next month smile

Hello Steve. Be good to see you at BTaP smile

I don't know Italy at all but Louise loves it so, as I will have put her through the Le Mans Classic and Race?... What Race? experience, I thought it would be nice to find somewhere in Italy that we can relax for 5 or 6 days. So, a nice area for bars and restaurants without being too busy or touristy. To be on the coast, or close to would be nice.

As I said, we will take one day out for driving up to the Ferrari factory.

By July being tough, do mean because it will be so busy?
