Do I need a visa to go to a short meeting in Dubai?

Hard to understand all the web sites but as read it I do not require a work permiot to go to Dubai to simply take part in a conference or trainining session? I am only there 48 hours.

With a UK passport you can get visa on arrival.

Don't mention you are coming for 'work', a 'meeting' or 'conference' will be fine.

Thanks Oilydan, I that that might be the case. The sites are confusing I guess because most people want to work over an extended period so they cater for those people.

......but at the same time when they as you why you are there for 24hrs have a plausable reason ready.

Something along the lines of "I'm dropping off 2kgs of Cocaine and collecting $100k" should be fine....
