Evening Folks,
I’ve just bought myself a new Snowboard wheelie bag for my trip next month, I'm flying with Easyjet and paid the extra surcharge at the time of booking (think it was £20 or there about). With this bag i know I’ll have extra room in it to fit clothes / necessities for the duration of my stay. My aim would be to have just my Board bag and hand luggage. My question is, I’ve heard from someone in the office that you're only allowed sports goods in the snowboard bag, i.e. board/boots/bindings etc.
Can someone clarify who's been with Easyjet before that I’m ok putting what i want into the wheelie bag.

Cheers in Advance

I *believe* the rules are thus (I had to swot up on them before an 8 week ski trip):

Buying the ski/snowboard equipment carriage ups your total weight allowance to 32kg (including the ski/snowboard bag). You thus have effectively an allowance of 1 normal bag and 1 ski bag, which combined can weigh up to 32kgs. They have no qualms about what you put in the ski/snowboard bag, so long as the weight rules are still abided by. When I flew out they weighed my ski bag.

SWISS are better for ski carriage. They'll carry a ski bag weighing up to 23kg free of charge, and you still get your normal 23kg of hold baggage, so effectively you get 46kg. And sometimes business class on SWISS isn't that expensive (£135 one way), and if you can get in there you get a standard baggage allowance of 2x32kg + 23kg of skis.

Depending on the size of the board bag, you should get most of your clothing in there too.
A mate of mine is able to stuff his entire clothing for a week in his board bag. The git. wink

The only time I have been caught out by putting all my stuff in the board bag was when BMI baby said that the bag was too heavy for their handlers (28kg). I was under the total weight for ski bag plus luggage, but the single bag was considered to be too heavy. The prescence of wheels on the bag made no difference as the handlers would still have to lift it.
