Going to a wedding in Jan just north of Taunton (nr Watchet) - the wedding has taken all the rooms at the venue - any GOOD luxury hotels within 30 mins of there that someone could vouch for?

I used to live on Exmoor would recommend The Crown in Exford or the Royal Oak in Withypool, Royal Oak Winsford is not bad either

Luttrell Arms in Dunster

Periton Park in Minehead

Neither are 'Four Seasons' but they'll do the job. Disclaimer: this is old information, they may be crap now.

Edit: Watchet is South West of Taunton I think, it certainly isn't North. 30 mins will get you back to Taunton and you could go to the : http://www.the-castle-hotel.com/index.php

Have a look at the quantockonline website they list some good places from memory, and if you email them they might also give you some pointers. I would be tempted to go for some of the nicer b&b's rather than hotel chains. The Castle doesn't have a brilliant local rep tbh. From memory The Hood in Kilve is a good country pub and there is a nice place on the A39 between Nether Stowey and Holford it got a good write up in the Times

You clattering lunatic. Watchet is on the north coast. Therefore very exactly north-west of Taunton.

I'd stay in Dunster if available.
